20/52 [Motherhood]

Watching over my daughter’s new discovery and sharing mine too.

“A miracle is a shift in perception. It’s the moment you choose to perceive your life with love. It’s the moment you choose to forgive someone. It’s the moment you choose to shift your mind, and therefore, change your experience. And when your experience changes, a miraculous outcome occurs.”  -Gabrielle Bernstein, Spirit Junkie

18/52 [Happy] & a little B&A

This week’s Project 52 theme was a pretty easy one!  Soaring thru the flowers is definitely nothing but Happy times!

Thought I’d add a little before and after.  This was processed using actions from Oh So Posh’s  Bohemian Symphony and Once Upon a Dream collections.

I used Simply Charming, Moroccan Spice, Sheer Beauty, Twinkle Eyes, and Sharpen.

17/52 [White]

I was busy, busy this past week and try as I  might – had no inspiration for WHITE.  I wanted to just cheat and use a photo I’d taken before, but I decided to go with something I just shot.  I listened to Zach and Jody on Creative Live last week and took to heart what Jody said about Perfectionism.  Sometimes you’ve done enough.

So I just made this white tent and the dog had white on him so that counts, right?  Not perfect, but this P52 is for fun, a challenge, and to learn new things.  I think I had success with all 3 in a different way than I imagined!

I made this tent!  It’s upcycled from an old Paper White dress.  It’s linen and cotton with hand embroidery.  It’s gorgeous, but was ruined by a wine stain at the wedding it was worn at.    Success!

Lightroom was used for all of this – the edits, frames, watermarks.  I would be so happy if I could use Lightroom more to speed up my workflow.  Something about Photoshop adds a little something, something I haven’t been able to recreate in LR…yet.  So I accomplished something by learning a little more about creating this storyboard frame. Success!

So, I made a tent, captured some goofy dog expressions, used white, and learned I need more practice shooting white.  Success!

In a way, no inspiration turned into a great learning opportunity!

3 Thursday Thoughts

I love Gala Darling’s Radical Self Love movement. Can you give yourself a compliment right now?

Just printed and framed this FAMILY free Subway Art printable for my family photos wall from Simple Crafter.

Totally inspired to try this by reading an article on 10 Moments to Capture to tell a Day in the Life Photography story.

What are you thinking about today?

16/52 [Perspective]

This week’s P52 was a little difficult! I really am trying to challenge myself and try new or different things.  From what I read, there are a couple of versions of Perspective- an artsy one about where lines meet the horizon, and also how you view things.  So I tried a little of both and it was fun!  I sat down on the ground during my daughter’s soccer game and took photos from that perspective.  They turned out really neat too!  Love this P52!

Baptised in sunlight – location scouting

It’s hard to turn the photographer brain off. Always looking at lighting and bokeh while watching tv and movies and constantly having a location radar turned on just to name a couple of things. I don’t think people realize that photographers have their location radar on pretty much 24/7. Always looking for a unique background, great lighting, just general interesting-ness. After a morning of clouds and a little light rain, the sun came shining out, and we went location scouting. I came across this little puddle of sunlight and flowers. After the gloomy morning it was just like being baptised in sunlight. Washed all that dreary hum drums away! It was wonderful, and we’re definitely going back with a client!

[T&T] Mother Daughter session | Keller, Texas bluebonnet photographer

T is about to graduate, and her Mom wanted photos taken of the two of them. They hadn’t had photos together in forever so I was so lucky to get to do them! T was feeling sick, but battled the bluebonnet pollen for her Mom and we captured some fun moments of them together. Also featured is their custom Facebook Timeline cover from their session. This is a current bonus freebie when booking your session thru Dawn Lopez Photography!

[A+W] Bluebonnet Maternity session | Fort Worth, Keller, Texas maternity photographer

New Beginnings sessions are some of my favorites. Such a joy to show that pregnancy is beautiful! This Mommy-to-be was glowing already then add in a handsome Daddy-to-be, Texas bluebonnets, adorable dog Pugsly, and this all adds up to a wonderful maternity session!

Funny outake: (we were sharing this lovely field with other photographers, and the people in the background were not a party of our session!)
