How to Book a Cake Smash Session with Me

Want to celebrate your lil one’s milestone in the sweetest way possible? A cake smash session is the perfect way to capture adorable, messy, and joy-filled memories! Here’s how you can book your session with me:

1. Choose Your Date – Cake Smash sessions are done the month before baby turns ONE! This allows me the 2 week turnaround time to get your gallery of digital images back to you. Pick a date for your session at least 2 months in advance. This ensures we have plenty of time to plan and prepare for the big moment!
2. Secure Your Booking – Book directly through https://book.usesession.com/i/ZJ3B91pyW or contact me through dawnlopezphotography@yahoo.com, Facebook messenger or Instagram messages to check availability and reserve your spot. I do ask for parent info and a $50+tax retainer which goes toward the cost of your session.
3. Select Your Theme – Do you have a favorite color scheme, character, or style in mind? Let’s brainstorm and create the perfect backdrop for your child’s cake smash photos. I will decorate the backdrop, you can bring special items or additional party supplies from home if you want to. *There is an add-on charge for designing and creating special cut out props. *Add a Bath Splash for some after smash fun!
4. Prepare Your Outfit – Parents bring 1 or 2 outfits. One for before the cake and second one to get messy with the cake. A cute outfit (or minimal clothing for maximum smash effect!) will make for adorable photos. I can also provide outfit recommendations if needed.
5. Plan Your Cake – Parents bring the cake. This is so you control what type of cake, icing, ingredients, or have allergy concerns. You can bring your own cake or I can provide recommendations if needed. White cake inside and no red or black icing is highly advised too!
6. Tips for a Successful Session – I will send you an email a couple days before your session with a list of tips that I have found helpful in creating a successful smash!
7. Enjoy the Session – I say this in my Tips email.. Every baby is different and will react in their own way, let them dive in, or be wary, love or hate the cake. We will find ways to embrace the moment and with the right expectations, the session will be stress free and cute forever memories will be captured!
8. Receive Your Photos – After the session, I’ll edit and within 2 weeks, deliver high-quality images that you can cherish forever!
